photographing a planet

Since I'm a regular visitor to a volcano website which has gone under some renovation over the past month, one of the features that I noticed was that their pictures are being provided by Google Earth, so I took the liberty to go explore and find about about the program in which I then downloaded and had a quick look through.  The shot of below is my neighbourhood and my house is somewhere in there.  From what I've observed looking around, this shot was taken on a fairly clear day in 2004 as I did have a look around the Docklands, but could not completely place a date.  There is the occasional chance that a cloud will get in the way of a shot. This is only a beta program so there are still many bugs to be worked out, but I'm sure the people at Google will do their best. Over time, I might decide to take a few snap shots of various places around Melbourne or even around the world as I go off to explore this great planet.
